Gero 2 is a 2D top-down sandbox survival game. 

It's the follow-up to the first Gero game, offering an updated experience with improved graphics and gameplay. 

Navigate through an open world, dealing with various challenges and resources. 

The game is currently in early development, so expect ongoing updates and refinements as it evolves.

Gero 2 is a Gero (1) Remake.

The purpose of remaking this game is to take advantage of new features and an improved workflow of Godot 4. Rebuilding the game from the ground up now, while it's still in an early stage of development, will result in a more stable and optimized final product compared to porting an existing Godot 3 project to Godot 4 later.

The core game design and vision may not remain the same. From the start, Gero was supposed to be a 2D 2-bit survival game with grid-based movement and no mouse input. However, it has drifted away from that initial concept;

Now, Gero features mouse input, showcasing new, refined full-color graphics, and has moved away from the constraints of a grid-based environment. These updates contribute to a more dynamic and visually engaging gaming experience.

Gero 2 has evolved into a game similar to Terraria, with a more modern and easily understandable gameplay experience.

I've refined the game concept over time, making what I believe are improvements. During the development process, I encountered aspects that felt counterintuitive, prompting me to refine and enhance those elements. The current iteration of Gero reflects these adjustments. Although I anticipate potential changes in the future, my ongoing goal is to consistently enhance the overall gameplay experience.
